Hi my name is Onyx and I’m 18 weeks old. I’m a totally black kitten/cat with huge golden eyes and a long tail.
I’m very inquisitive and playful. I’ve introduced my foster carer to a few cool games… my favourite is playing fetch with a little ball! Yes I believe I have the gift of a golden retriever, racing after the ball then returning it earnestly to my foster carer with a little “mieow” for more. I can play this for ages, before I suddenly get sleepy and need a nap.
My second favourite game is peek ‘a’ boo, especially around corners. I love it when my foster carer has friends over because it means I have more people to play with and more opportunities to be the centre of attention.
Yes I’m definitely growing up to be a people oriented cat. And I would prefer to find a home with friendly companions who will be around a fair bit. Perhaps with a family, or someone who works from home or at least with some other pets to play with.
I’ll cuddle up to you if you’re working away at your computer, watching TV or scrolling your social media. If you’re on your phone too much I might come and annoy you though, because I’m more important than your news feed.
I’m very playful with other animals, especially other cats. I wish dogs could understand me better when I try and play with them, but they’re alright.
I have a great appetite and I’m learning to behave politely at meal times. I like to run around in the mornings and evenings and sleep all night, napping in the afternoons. I most often come when I’m called, greeting my foster carer enthusiastically when she gets home. My meow is soft and sweet, more like a “mieuw” or a little “trill”, and my purr is generous, rich and warm. Sometimes I’ll engage in a conversation with a human, answering back with my funny trills and mieuws.
I’m desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and up to date with flea and worm treatments.
