My name is Ryder, and I’m a boisterous little ball of energy! I’ve had a pretty rough few months after surgery for a torn ACL. It’s been a long recovery process and I will likely continue to limp for a while still. I am a female Staffy X, approximately 3 or 4 years old. I have an infectious, ear to ear smile. It doesn’t take much.. sun baking, cuddles, swimming in my pool, walks, belly rubs, watching you cook dinner. I promise my big smile will melt your heart!
I am generally friendly with other dogs, and love having a play in contained spaces. My over excitement can be a little overbearing for smaller dogs. I am doing really well at dog training, and would benefit from regular classes to improve on my socialisation, recall and reaction skills. Currently I have to be walked on leash at all times, in case something interesting catches my eye. I absolutely loooove going for walks! With a check chain my walking is improving, but I still need ongoing training to stop me from pulling and being so reactive to other dogs and cats I see. My future family must have time to take me on daily walks. Due to my amazing jumping abilities, a high fence with a contained yard is also necessary.
Just like your classic Staffy, I’m happiest when I’m around people. I love people of any age or size, and will always try for a head rub or cuddle. I can get a little distressed when I can’t see you, so ideally I’m not left outside or home alone for extended periods of time. I am not a destructive dog, my foster mum is surprised she hasn’t had a single pair of shoes chewed up! At home I will follow you around like a shadow until I get sleepy and pass out on the couch or have a nap in the sun. I would like a home where I am allowed inside when my humans are home.
Lucky for you I am toilet trained and crate trained, so I will happily go to my crate at bed time as part of my routine. I actually need reminding to go to the toilet, as I would rather hold on for hours if it means more human cuddles. Currently I am in a home with no other animals, due to limited exercise during surgery recovery. I’d be happy to try sharing with another medium or large doggy, if they enjoyed my company.
I am a super happy and friendly girl, in need of humans who will love me, cuddle me, and continue training and disciplining me. Please apply for me if you think I sound like your dream girl.
Ryder is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and up to date with flea and worm treatment.
